12월 24, 2025, Old Uranium Mine Tunnel (CHKO Český les)
Relatively inconspicuous, you could easily drive right past it...

The Further Felsengänge (Further Rock Passages) are truly something special. The entrance is somewhat inconspicuous, but what lies behind, or rather beneath, is truly amazing! Adult admission: €5

Exciting tour lasting around an hour with lots of impressions and stories about the Further rock passages. The 10km long tunnel system was dug from the Middle Ages onwards and gradually expanded. You get information about the air raid shelters, knights, the earthman Karl-Heinz and the different uses. Interesting for young and old!

Highly recommended, keep your head down or you can also put on a helmet hanging at the entrance, especially the air raid shelter...

Comfortable journey via Grafenkirchen, then through the beautiful forest covered with moss. The summit itself is quite overgrown, there is also a shelter. Seems to be sparsely visited; So really lonely.

A labyrinth several kilometers long stretches beneath the dragon-biting town of Furth im Wald. The rock passages have been carved into the gneiss since the late Middle Ages and served, among other things, as beer cellars, hiding places, air raid shelters, winter quarters for bats and, of course, as a habitat for all kinds of spirits and ghosts. Sturdy shoes, warm clothes. 8 degrees all year round in the corridors. But definitely worth a trip! €4.50 per person, guided tour possible

Great rock ensemble colloquially referred to as "Bear's Cave". A few steps away is a great vantage point with a view of Pempfling.

According to the latest knowledge, the tunnel goes about 50 - 70 meters deep into the rock before it splits into 2 tunnels, because there were a few bats and we were deep in the mountain, we stopped our spirit of discovery and went out again.

First of all, a big thank you to @Scherbula, who knew that this tunnel existed, then a big thank you to @Sonni_SP, who knew where it was, and last but not least, a big thank you to Karl Reitmeier, who gave me the following information: About 1.5 kilometers after the Höll - Lísková (Haselbach) border crossing, there is an entrance to an old mine on the left side, somewhat hidden by the vegetation in the rock. During the communist era, uranium rock was mined there. The entrance to the mine, which was in the restricted area, was covered with blankets so people couldn't see what was happening. The rock was therefore also removed via the north side and not towards the road. However, it is said to have turned out that the uranium rock was not productive enough and then the mining was finally stopped. I don't know how long the tunnel is. Maybe 20 meters. The entrance has now been fitted with a new grate after the old one broke. When the grating was broken, you could go a few meters into the tunnel, in which there is always some water. The water is always dripping in the entrance area and forms interesting structures there in winter when temperatures are below zero for a long time.

The "Schrazelloch" on Bleschenberg near Waldmünchen is an extraordinary and unique monument in the district of Cham. It has only recently been opened to the public due to excavation work. There are many stories and assumptions about the "Schrazelloch". Ultimately, it was confirmed that this is a 16th-century mine that was probably mined for gold and silver without success. Due to the uncovering, it is now possible to take a look into the 26 m deep shaft from a viewing platform. The forest trail and the chapel on the Bleschenberg lead to the Schrazel Cave and the former castle complex

Great boulders, forest roads and trails! The forest path towards Beutelsbach was quite muddy, although it hadn't rained for a week.
