The U hiking trail runs along the Bommecke stream. The wide farm track has now become a small, narrow path. It's fun to walk or ride a mountain bike. But be careful of the water gullies!

Bommecke means "stream surrounded by trees" and that is exactly what awaits you here. While the stream flows gently over the stones in its bed, you walk through a quiet forest and sometimes along a meadow.

From the viewing platform we have a beautiful view of the sea of rocks. A legend explains very well how the sea of rocks came into being: When the devil was traveling through the area with a large sack full of stones, the sack scraped past the rocks lying around, creating a hole in it. The further the devil went, the bigger the hole became. Eventually the devil kept losing his rocks from his sack - until the whole sack ripped at this point, creating the sea of rocks.

Once you have "worked" your way up from the Hönne valley from Garbeck and via Leveringhausen to the Kohlberg, you can reward yourself with the kilometer-long descent through the Stephanopler valley to Hemer-Sundwig. Be careful: the road is quite narrow, and cars occasionally come towards you.

A free-floating, wave-shaped bridge and an observation platform are located here for very special views of the sea of rocks.
