I have walked it many times, the best thing is to walk the entire Katharinenweg. It starts at the Katharinenturm and runs up the Finstertal, along the Alps, Kleinshöhe, to the Robert Heil Turm, Kneipp Becken, Hamburger Hütte, down to the Kurpark and back to the starting point at the Katharinenturm.

If you walk along the P10 and cross the L3249, you will reach the Vockebach after a short walk. A scenic valley on a small creek.

This narrow and steep valley was formerly called "The front red ditch" or "Finstertal".

Didn't even know there was such a beautiful gorge in Hersfeld. We will stop by again in spring and extend the tour a bit.

Above Gilfershausen, coming from the south (Braunhausen/Iba), this small, narrow ravine leads along. On a distance of approx. 250 meters you feel like you are on a bobsled track ;-)
