From the Schauinsland Hut, you have a fantastic view of the Fulda Valley and Rotenburg. The Schauinsland Hut is not too far from the PILZCHEN. The hut is a lovely rest stop for hikes and mountain bike tours, and is also ideal for a picnic.

The Schauinsland Hut, aptly named, is an ideal place to stop for a rest during mountain bike tours and hikes. Located at the highest point of the Rotenburg R2 hiking trail, it offers a magnificent view of the Fulda Valley and the opposite side, towards the HKZ and Alheimer.

The Hohe Buche hunting lodge is located at a large fork in the road - X3 (Wildbahn) and X17 (Fuldahöhenweg) - in the Rotenburg city forest. It is located a short distance away from the path and unfortunately only offers limited protection from rain and other bad weather because the hut itself is not open, but only has a covered porch with seating. But it is still a good point for a rest.

The refuge, located in the middle of the forest, is ideal for hikers and bikers.

Unfortunately it's right on the A7 motorway and it's so loud that you can't even have a normal conversation. Just get out of there quickly!
