There is a cute little beach bar here for a quick refreshment or a small snack. Opening hours: closed on Mondays, Tuesday to Thursday 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The nature reserve was established in 1936 and is one of the oldest in Westphalia. The Heideweiher pond, with its special flora, gives an impression of what the moor and heath-dominated Rahden region looked like before it was cultivated by humans.

I spent my first night of my bike tour along the bike route of the megalithic culture at the campsite right on the lake and was able to enjoy a wonderful sunset at the dog beach in the evening, while Einstein had his fun in the water there. I was lucky that three large swarms of starlings were out and about circling each other 😍 A wonderful spectacle. By the way, when such a swarm suddenly starts next door in the bush, it sounds like a starting car 😮

The Grönenbergpark with the Heimathof is the central park in Melle. In the restaurant Heimathof you can eat very well.

Small park surrounded by restored half-timbered houses. Very well-kept ambience. The buildings are mainly used as sports training facilities/performance centers.
