In the 18th century, Wildbad was one of the most important spa towns in Europe. It served as a health and recreation resort for the Margraves of Ansbach. The healing waters were already known in the time of Charlemagne, around 800 AD. Seven springs, stretching approximately 100 meters, gush forth here, and their waters were used to cure a wide variety of ailments.

You sit on a wooden bench on the bank, the sun warming your face as you gaze out over the sparkling water. The forest surrounds you with its soothing rustling, and the only sounds you hear are the chirping of birds and the rippling of the water.

Hoheneck Castle is now used as a youth educational center and cannot be visited from the inside. But the castle in the vineyard is also a beautiful sight from the outside.

Hoheneck Castle is used as a youth education center and is currently being renovated (part of it is under scaffolding). It was particularly beautiful when it snowed and there were no other visitors/hikers around. You should definitely walk around the castle, it is particularly worth it for the wonderful view when the weather is clear. On "special days" the castle can also be visited.

Very nice hedge farm with a very nice outdoor area (created brook, roof terrace with a view and children's playground). Inside it is very rustic and cozy. The obatzte and the lard bread is very tasty and definitely recommended. The winemaker's plate is plentiful and the sausage and cheese are very good and beautifully presented. As the hut is managed by a couple alone, it can take a while, but you can also go to the counter yourself and order there or pick up the food yourself. Music even played today, a couple unpacked their squeezes - it couldn't be more hearty 😉👍!! ATTENTION ⚠: the hut is only open on weekends from 1:30 p.m. The three springs of the Iff, the so-called pigeon holes, are just a few steps away from the Taubenlochhütte, a hedge farm that is managed seasonally. These pretty little ponds used to have the nearby Frankenberg Castle supplied with drinking water.
