Just behind the North Sea dike, Vester Vedsted’s shelters offer a scenic and peaceful stop. A nearby memorial and plaques mark the old Danish-German border (1864–1920) and a restored dyke hut from the 1920s. The site is clean, includes toilet facilities, and offers stunning sunset views. Located on Eurovelo 12 and Vestkustruten, it’s popular with cyclists, so reserving ahead is wise (except for one non-reservable shelter).

Blokhus Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Northern Europe, stretching for miles, with the finest white sand and high, wind-protecting dunes. You can drive along the beach from Rødhus in the south to Løkken in the north and buy freshly caught fish right there on the beach almost every day. Dogs on leashes are also welcome on the beach year-round.
