Reaching the southern tip of Peetzigsee is quite a challenge! There's even access to the lake here, but the view isn't as breathtaking as you might have hoped. Swimming is hardly possible here, or at least not enjoyable, because the bottom is soft and muddy.

The rest hut marks a spot where you can easily access Peetzigsee, right at its southern tip. - Warning: Anyone who wants to continue from here, to circumnavigate the lake clockwise, must be prepared for a very narrow, terribly overgrown, and poorly maintained path, and for an unreasonably long stretch! - It's absolutely not suitable for cyclists, and not exactly ideal for hikers either! You can push your bike sometimes, but even that's very difficult here.

A beautiful spot with a view of the expansive Uckermark hills. There aren't many good places to stop for a rest in the area, except upstream in the Warta River and near the lake (a better alternative!).

Interesting fact. However, the birds in this place are so used to people that you can watch them from a bike...

In my opinion, Templin and this hike, apart from a few short stretches along the road, especially on the Fährkrug side, are a feast for the eyes and highly recommended. Templin's city wall has a total length of 1.7 kilometers. Measured by area, Templin is the largest city in the Uckermark district of the state of Brandenburg. Despite its population of only around 16,000, it is the eighth-largest city in Germany. Former Chancellor Angela Merkel spent her early years of school at the Goethe Elementary School (see also picture).

Very clean lake and no annoying motorboats.

It's a good and inexpensive place to stay overnight here.
