Yes, the owner sometimes makes a strange impression, but he is at least very friendly to overnight guests if they stick to his principles. The food is simply amazing, though, and that alone makes an overnight stay worthwhile. I also found out that hikers who don't stay overnight don't get any water. I find that very rude.
