Look towards the trees to find a boulder with a plaque for Angus Rodden, born 17 June 1941. I couldn’t find out who he was, but there is a nice flat tentsite just behind the boulder with a great view.

As you run along the South side of Loch Ossian you pass the classic tree filled view of the Youth Hostel. The smooth estate track unfolds infront of you and circumnavigates the entire Loch.

Could this be one of the most scenic estate roads in Scotland? Enjoy glimpses of Loch Ossian between the gaps in the trees as you travel along it's Northern Shores.

fantastic place to stay, camp, swim

The Loch boasts stunning views from all corners, by my favourites are the initial ones looking across these small islands. We had cloud cover, but I'm sure on a clear day they would be even more impressive.

After walking most of the Loch in just over a few hours, we stopped at this small beach to admire the views and eat a bit of lunch. Truly spectacular and one of my favourite adventures on my trip.
