Steamboat Lake State Park comprises 2,820 acres of parkland situated west of Hahns Peak and near the community of Hahns Peak Village. It is home to Steamboat Lake, a 1,101-acre reservoir that offers excellent fishing and boating opportunities. Additionally, the park features a full-service marina and campground.

Black Mountain is one of the most prominent peaks in the Elkhead Mountains. The Elkhead Mountains are a relatively low mountain range compared to other Colorado ranges, but Black Mountain still stands tall at 10,865 ft (3,312 m.). The summit is interesting because it's more of a plateau and ridge, which gives you lots of freedom at the top to explore and find your favorite views. This area is very remote and so are the trails. It can be hard to stay on the trail to the top sometimes. It is unlikely you see other hikers on the trail.

Hahns Peak Lake is a pristine lake in a remote Colorado area. There are trails looping around the lake, there is a campground and visitors love to paddle board on the lake. It is usually pretty quiet in this part of Colorado, which makes your hike a solitary experience.

Meaden Pass doesn't get plowed til July 1. So it can still be snow covered in spots prior to July 1. The descent on the eastern side can be loose & rocky making it a little more technical than most descents on the ride.
