The climb to Prati di Tivo is one of the most famous climbs in the Abruzzo Apennines, located at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif. It measures about 14 kilometers with over 1000 meters of elevation gain. The gradients are constant, with many hairpin bends and some steeper sections. It is a classic stage finish of the Giro d'Italia.

Monte Gorzano, with its 2,458 meters is the highest peak in Lazio. Going up from Cesacastina or Capricchia, this mountain looks like a large grassy plateau, but it is enough to look north-east to find yourself on a deep rock face overhanging the valley below.

Between Lazio and Abruzzo is a peak with an old story behind. It was an important place for the shepherds. They brought their sheeps there. It was also and old way to go from their villages in Abruzzo to Amatrice in Lazio.

Summit of Monte Cesarotta, within the Monti della Laga massif at an altitude of 1800 metres. It can be reached from Umito by crossing the Maularo beech forest, and from here you can return to Acquasanta Terme via the crest road passing by the peaks of Colle Pidocchi, Monte Libretti, Colle dell'Aragliene and Montecalvo.

Monte Gorzano is located at 2458 meters, and is the maximum elevation of the Laga. It can be reached both from the Lazio side and from the Abruzzo side.

The summit of Monte di Mezzo at an altitude of 2155 m overlooks the town of Campotosto and the lake of the same name.
