The Parco della Pace is a fenced green area of 630,000 square meters north of Vicenza. The park is crisscrossed by over 8 km of paths, with walkways, fords, narrow roads, and dirt bike paths. There are hills, islands, tall, flowery meadows, mowed fields, woods with trees and shrubs, and a system of canals over 9 km long that connects lakes and wetlands. The area is ideal for walks, outdoor activities, and moments of tranquility, thanks to the presence of tree-lined paths, large green spaces, and shaded areas. There are benches, children's playgrounds, picnic and barbecue areas, and spaces dedicated to cultural events and sports activities. There are two areas reserved for dog walking; dogs must be kept on a leash in the rest of the park. Numerous wild animal species can be observed in the various habitats, including coots, herons, egrets, cormorants, black-winged stilts, hares, roe deer, turtles, frogs, dragonflies, and fish. Strongly supported by the Vicenza city administration as compensation for the construction of the Renato Del Din American base, which borders it, the Peace Park—built on the site once occupied by the Tommaso Dal Molin airport—is also a symbolic place for the Vicenza community, dedicated to memory and reflection, with installations and spaces that promote the values of nonviolence, respect, and civil coexistence.

Beautiful stretch of shore with vegetation that offers shelter to numerous birds such as ducks, swans, hens, etc. Excellent perhaps at dawn for birdwatching.
