The reserve is famous for being one of Öland's prime bird habitats, hosting around 250 to 260 bird species, including rare visitors like the Bar-tailed Godwit and Peregrine Falcon. Visitors can explore three main trails of varying lengths, including a unique walk along the old harbor pier. It is also a notable butterfly habitat with over 650 species observed here. Bird-watching towers, platforms, and hides offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Informative signs along the trails provide insight into the local ecology and history. The area supports diverse bat species, thanks to the abundance of insects. Beijershamn is wheelchair-accessible and has facilities such as parking and picnic spots. This nature reserve is an ideal destination for peaceful walks and immersive nature experiences year-round.
