The Quelhas stream, with its stunning waterfalls and lagoons, is one of the natural gems of the Serra da Lousã. Until 2020, discovering its secrets required tackling one of the most challenging trails in the mountain range, with climbing sections, or venturing out along the course of the stream. Today, with the construction of walkways, exploring this paradise has become much more accessible. And if the heat gets too much, bring your swimsuit; the crystal-clear waters are an irresistible invitation for a refreshing dip!

Access path to the Fórnea Waterfall. The surface is generally good, although there may be some muddy areas after rainy periods.

While I've got to come back to see them in the height of summer AND in winter after a good bit of rain, these cascades were mind-blowing for me. Man-made, coming from all directions and full of life. I could have stood there watching for hours!

Nice quiet route. No water at the waterfall, unfortunately. Because that would give a different experience, certainly worth it for the beautiful views

The waterfall only appears after heavy rain! Fórnea waterfall just appear after intense rain!

Actually, there is supposed to be a waterfall here. Unfortunately dried out due to the drought in July.
