Vågåvatn is a large, beautiful lake with turquoise and crystal-clear waters, originating from glacial meltwater in the nearby Jotunheimen mountains. The village of Vågåmo located at its eastern end, offering scenic views and recreational opportunities.
The Styggevatnet is mostly still frozen in June. If you are lucky, you can experience an open water surface in July. There are kayak tours offered to the glacier tongue.
With a large parking lot, a toilet house, numerous picnic tables, barbecue huts and a lawn, this pond invites you to swim. There's even a lifebuoy on the shore.
