5월 30, 2025, Schloss Binningen
Schloss Binningen is a former moated castle from the 13th century, located on the southern edge of Binningen near Basel. The castle was destroyed several times by earthquakes, fire and war, and largely acquired its present form in the 17th and 18th centuries. In 1772, the moat was filled in and the building was adapted into a representative country house. Since 1960, it has been owned by the municipality and today houses a restaurant and hotel. The inner courtyard and the surrounding park make it an attractive stop on a tour of the region.

This well-preserved moated castle, one of the few remaining moated castles in Switzerland, dates back to the 13th century and was converted into an elegant Baroque country house in the 18th century with Rococo details, including stucco work in the Steinsaal. The castle is set in park-like surroundings, is completely surrounded by a moat and has a square plan with corner towers.

Bottmingen Castle is a moated castle, just like you would expect from a book. A small park surrounds the small chãteau from the 14th century. The park was once much larger. Today Bottmingen's public outdoor swimming pool is located there. The chãteau itself houses a well-respected, high-standard restaurant with an excellent reputation. The main building can be reached via two bridges. Unfortunately, the castle cannot be visited. However, it can be booked for parties and celebrations. Important! Be sure to check the restaurant's opening hours online.

The Teufelhof Basel is a hotel in Basel's old town in two historic buildings at Leonhardsgraben 47-49. Parts of the building complex (Leonhardgraben 47) and the cellar (archaeological monument) are listed in the canton of Basel-Stadt's inventory of monuments. The idea behind the operation is to operate independent art and culture as part of a "self-subsidization" of the cultural operation through a parallel hotel and restaurant operation. Due to objections, the permit had to be obtained before the Swiss Federal Court before the opening. After this six-and-a-half-year waiting period, the hotel opened on April 28, 1989. The Teufelhof Basel now employs 70 people. The hotel consists of two buildings, the art hotel and the gallery hotel. The art hotel has eight rooms and one suite, all of which are designed as habitable works of art. The gallery hotel has 20 rooms and four junior suites and is also used as an exhibition space. Nine art rooms were designed by various artists as experiential spatial art. The artists are free to paint directly on the walls or work with materials in the room. The Teufelhof also regularly supports artists with exhibitions or projects of various kinds. The cultural operations include a theater with cabaret performances and satirical programs. The promotion of regional individual artists and groups - from accompanying rehearsals in the in-house theater to premieres in the Teufelhof - also plays an important role in the program planning. The theater is financed by the Teufelhof Basel, but since 2002 has also received a contribution from the two cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft. In addition to the cultural operations in the sense of the theater and the art hotel, the house also houses two restaurants, the gourmet restaurant "Bel Etage" and the restaurant "Atelier". The house also houses a coffee bar, a gallery hotel with changing exhibitions that is offered as a free platform for the artists, a wine shop "falstaff" and a small archaeological museum, embedded in the historic Basel city walls from the 11th and 13th centuries. 6월 2, 2024, Château du Landskron
Landskron is located in Alsace, on French soil. It is one of the most important and impressive castle ruins in the area. Entry is free. There are numerous barbecue areas in and around the castle that are waiting to be lit. From the top of the tower, you get a unique view of Alsace, the Vosges, the Black Forest and the Rhine plain. Anyone who visits Château du Landskron should definitely pay a visit to the Mariastein monastery in "nearby" Switzerland.

For me, the most beautiful ruin I have ever visited. A very beautiful place that can be combined with wonderful hikes in the Leimental. Perfect for family outings, there are barbecue areas. Entering the ruin is at your own risk. There is a warning about falling rocks, and rightly so.

From Basel, Hegenheim is one of the easiest destinations in Alsace to reach. It is a good starting point for combinations in the direction of Hagenthal-le-Bas, Buschwiller or north to Hésingue and on.

12월 9, 2022, Château du Landskron
In 1628, the Protestant nobility was forced to emigrate, and the castle was confiscated. In 1639, Count Dietrichstein acquired Landskron. On October 24, 1648, through the Treaties of Westphalia and Münster, which ended the Thirty Years' War, the Habsburg lands and territories in Alsace passed into the hands of the King of France. In 1812, lightning struck, and the magnificent castle burned to the ground. In 1953, Hans Maresch established a first-class café-restaurant in the remaining ruins. After his death, his sister, Christine Kunz, took over the castle ruins and, through further renovations, brought the restaurant to its current state.

The castle ruins are currently being restored. The tower is closed, as are the metal stairs towards Grenzwächterweg. There are several barbecue areas around the castle ruins that are well used. So pack your barbecue meat and picnic blanket and relax ☀️😉
