Reichenstein Castle, a listed building, is ideal for sophisticated events in a special, historic setting with breathtaking views of the present-day border triangle of Switzerland, Germany and France.

The middle ruin is located on the highest point of the Wartenberg (479 m above sea level) and is well known thanks to the viewing terrace (493 m above sea level) built in 1956 and the fascinating panoramic view. The front and rear castle ruins are often not noticed (anymore). It is also forgotten that this is the only rocky outcrop in the world on which a total of three "fortresses" were built one after the other and not directly connected within a distance of 500 m. The mighty residential tower (donjon) is clearly visible from almost every district of Muttenz (291 m above sea level) and is therefore the absolute eye-catcher. In 1955/56, the pro Wartenberg society initiated a major reconstruction. Landskron is located in Alsace, on French soil. It is one of the most important and impressive castle ruins in the area. Entry is free. There are numerous barbecue areas in and around the castle that are waiting to be lit. From the top of the tower, you get a unique view of Alsace, the Vosges, the Black Forest and the Rhine plain. Anyone who visits Château du Landskron should definitely pay a visit to the Mariastein monastery in "nearby" Switzerland.

For me, the most beautiful ruin I have ever visited. A very beautiful place that can be combined with wonderful hikes in the Leimental. Perfect for family outings, there are barbecue areas. Entering the ruin is at your own risk. There is a warning about falling rocks, and rightly so.

Bierseck Castle is open for visits from Easter to October 31st every Wednesday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. As of 2024 Below the castle is the "Ermitage", the largest English garden in Switzerland. Together with Bierseck Castle, an absolute must-have. There are parking spaces near the castle
