At the southeastern end of the Monfragüe National Park is the town of Deleitosa, surrounded by oak and chestnut forests. Stop by the center of town to rest, eat something and admire the church of San Juan Evangelista.

The Herrerías aqueduct is an old hydraulic infrastructure designed to supply energy to a blacksmith shop in Campillo de Deleitosa. Later it would also be used to supply three mini power plants. Actually, the aqueduct is only part of a larger work, which consists of a seven-kilometer canal and its related structures. This canal begins in a dam built right where the Batanes, Colmenar and Torneros gorges converge.

In the foothills of the Los Ibores region is Castañar de Ibor, on the road from Guadalupe to Navalmoral de la Mata.

Mesas de Ibor is a municipality in Extremadura located in the Ibor valley, south of the Valdecañas reservoir. Surrounded by endless olive groves, so typical of this area, the town has interesting vestiges from different eras, such as a Roman fountain and bridge, a Celtic castro and a picturesque medieval church.

An incredible fortress rose from the rocky cliffs. Muslim fortress from the 12th century, built to monitor and control the trade route between the Sierra de Ortijuela and the Berzocana river valley. The views are spectacular.

Castañar de Ibor is a small town in the Los Ibores region. Originally founded at the end of the 15th century along the old cattle tracks.

Cabañas del Castillo is a spectacular place located within the Villuercas-Ibores-Jara Geopark, dominated by high rock formations and gorges. The Cabañas castle is of Muslim origin but was later occupied by the Knights of Trujillo and Calatrava. A short ride off the bike, but highly recommended for seeing incredible views between the Sierra de la Ortijuela and Sierra del Alcornocal and the gorge below curved by the Almonte River.
