Ylihärmä is a small town along the Lapuanjoki river. The wooden church was constructed between 1785 and 1787. It is topped with a bell tower added in 1828, designed by the renowned architect Carl Ludwig Engel.

This bridge made of steel allows you to cross the Kyrönjoki river in all safety. It's located close to the villages of Valtaala and Napue.

Located in Southern Ostrobothnia, the Kyrönjoki river (or "Kyro älv" in Swedish) flows into the Gulf of Bothnia. It's one of the most important rivers in Western Finland.

Vähäkyrö ceased to exist as an independent town around a decade ago, when a referendum decided that the city would be incorporated to Vaasa. Vähäkyrö then became the first ever exclave in the history of sovereign Finland.

The ruins of the school building are now only the foundations. A memorial plaque and a relief remind us of its former appearance.

This building survived the city fire of 1852, while neighboring houses fell victim to the flames. Today, the museum is housed here and in the outdoor area you can see historical wooden buildings. Particularly interesting is the relief of the old town, which is embedded in the gable wall of the building.

The church was also destroyed in the devastating fire of 1852. The ruins of the old port city are now 7 km from the coast due to the ongoing land uplift. The complex can, however, be visited and the walls are a reminder of the city's history.
