The old Col de la Croix du Ban marked the feudal boundary between the Archdiocese of Lyon, the Abbey of Savigny and the County of Forez, whose capital was Montbrison. Here the view is not as clear as at the Col de la Croix du Ban, however you can enjoy the view of the old cross and this beautiful wooded atmosphere, which depending on the light can be very bucolic.

A very beautiful site with a magnificent view at this crossroads of many roads. However, can we really speak of a pass because it is basically a cross, but this place has the whole profile to be one. In any case what is certain is that you have to go up there!

The highest point of this old ridge path marked the feudal boundary between the Archdiocese of Lyon, the Abbey of Savigny and the County of Forez. Today the Col de la Croix du Ban can easily be reached via the road or by following the ridge path. It offers a superb view of the Lyon region on its eastern side, and on the Monts du Lyonnais on its western side.
