As wooden carved dolls trolls are now part of the crafts and tourist appearance of Norway. They are popular as souvenirs there. These wooden figures are humpbacked, square-shaped and designed with a long nose. According to Norse mythology, the giants and trolls live in Utgard, while the people of Midgard and the Asians live in Asgard. In the Heimskringla, Olaf's saga tells the saint how Arnljot Gelline fights with a troll woman who attacks and kills sleeping traders in a mountain hut at night. According to legend, so far never living trolls have been seen, as they turn into stones at the sight of people immediately!
