Very nice sanctuary, 2 bars and a restaurant, top view

A beautiful, not too steep climb up to about 950 m above sea level along an old mule track. If you want to continue to the summit, you have to pay close attention to the red and white markings, which are becoming increasingly rare. In the treeless zone, there are occasionally cairns to help you orient yourself, but it is worth using GPS here even for mountain hikers with experience of walking in pathless terrain. The easiest way to climb is over the ridge on the right, but it is not advisable to climb in fog.

Great views in all directions from a summit strewn with large and small boulders. There is always a cool breeze here.

The Passo della Beta is a pass immersed in the beech wood of Monte Gelbison, located at about 1300 meters above sea level below the summit. From here begins the last stretch of climb that leads to the top, or it can also be reached from other paths that start from Cannalonga or Rofrano.

On the summit of Monte Gelbison at 1705 m asl is the sanctuary of the Madonna del Monte Sacro, a destination for pilgrimages and devotions. From here you can enjoy a spectacular panorama, and the path to get there is almost entirely in the shade in the woods, therefore suitable even on the hottest days.
