From Noiraigue, the last section of the hiking trail leads over these 14 curves (Sentier des 14 Contours). The climb is definitely worth it; the view over the Creux du Van is breathtaking.

These are not 14 contours, but 14 hairpin bends. The path is steep, but attractive.

The Creu de Van is simply unique! You can either leave your racing bike at the bistro or push it about 200m across the meadow (for a selfie with your bike 😉).

If you are looking for an adventure in the Swiss Jura, you should try the Tichodrome Via Ferrata. This is a safe climbing route that follows natural ledges along a rocky cliff overlooking the Val de Travers. You'll need some agility and a good sense of altitude, as some parts of the course are very exposed and require you to hang from a loose cable. The difficulty level is K4-, which means it is suitable for experienced climbers and children over 14 years old. The route is 550 meters long and takes approximately one hour. You'll be rewarded with stunning views of the valley and the chance to spot the tichodrome, a rare and colorful bird that nests in the area. The via ferrata is closed from January 1 to June 30 to protect the bird's breeding season.

The Areuse karst spring is a natural spring which emerges from limestone rocks and forms the Areuse river. You can start your hike from the village of Noiraigue and go up the river to the source, located at the foot of the Clusette cliffs. Along the way, you will enjoy views of gorges, bridges and waterfalls. The Areuse karst source is a good example of underground water circulation in a karst system.

If you are looking for a great adventure in the Swiss Jura, why not visit the Glacière de Monlési, the largest natural ice cave in Switzerland? You can access it on foot from the Col des Sagnettes, on the road between Fleurier and La Brévine. The cave is a karst sinkhole that contains three shafts, leading to a large ice-filled room. You can explore the icy wonders of this underground world, like stalagmites and ice stalactites. But be careful, it is very dangerous to go over the ladder or walk on the ice without the proper equipment and guidance. The Glacière de Monlési is a protected nature reserve and a unique geological phenomenon.
