At the pass, the paved Chemin Béry forest road leads to the Col de la Vierge after 2 km and Lac des Corbeaux after 4.5 km. Driving down from the pass towards La Bresse, after 1 km you will reach a fork in the road. Turn right onto the quiet D34 A departmental road, the Route des Américains, which climbs to the Vosges ridge road, the Route des Crêtes. There it joins the Col de Rothenbach with its striking summit. The Route des Américains is 5 km long and has an elevation gain of almost 280 meters.

It's an ideal starting point for hikes to the Grand Ballon, the Storkenkopf, and many more. Here you can enjoy a hearty meal before or after a hike.

Great corner with mega views

The Blochmont is the perfect Sunday ride pass for a tour through Alsace. Approaching from the north, you'll almost feel like you're in the Tour de France, as the gentle gradient means you can climb really fast. Enjoyable ascents alternate between forest and sunny sections. Reaching the farm at the top means you've completed the climb, though it's certainly not a job; this climb is pure enjoyment.

At the Col de Bramont, located in the Vosges, you will encounter a mix of challenging climbs and thrilling descents. As you pass through dense forests and meadows, the air is fresh and invigorating, especially when you reach the summit at 956 meters.

The way up is full of street paintings from the last Tour de France stages that went up there. It's a special feeling even without all the extras and I can recommend everyone to try the climb. Once you're at the top, you have the choice between different descents. I opted for the gravel descent, which was an additional physical challenge as it was very steep and rocky. There is a lovely mountain pasture on the way down where you can recharge your batteries with blueberry cake, coffee and non-alcoholic beer (Ferme Auberge Strohberg). It's also a good place to go if you've "forgotten" your bars and gel.
