The castle dates back to the 12th century and is now a listed building. It is not open to the public, but the view from outside is impressive. And the view of the surrounding landscape is pure enjoyment.

When there is snow it is a little difficult to get to the viewpoint. But once you get there you can see the Seckau Tauern beautifully. There isn't much left of the Ehrenfels ruins.
