A very small pond has been dug out next to the shrine and a small sign declares this to be a work of art🎃 Nevertheless, there are two options available for the tired hiker: A nice bench to rest on in the shade of a tree with a view of Althofen, or a wine tavern within sight!

Where this place name comes from, hmmm... A ditch and an old iron smelting furnace, not much else... But the old smelting furnace is well preserved, although it is advisable to ask at the inn opposite if you can go closer. :-)

The hiker who is resting here is suddenly awakened when trains approach... The track begins to "sing", then the train rushes past and it becomes quiet again :-)
