The monument, dating from 1905 or 1925, was last restored in 1997. It consists of a square stone base that tapers towards the top, upon which stands a bust of the famous author, made of St. Veit marble. The St. Veit Schiller Monument originally stood across the street at the beginning of the Lower Square.

The small building stands out due to the beautiful frescoes that adorn its outer walls. These depict scenes from rural life. Today there is a restaurant here, which is a wonderful place to stop off. The Wimitzer Mountains are a lonely area. Very beautiful! They are also particularly suitable for gravel bike rides.
