At 5,718 feet (1,743 m), Veslfjellet is the highest point on the famous Besseggen Ridge. In contrast to some of the narrower sections on the route, the summit is relatively broad but the views are still spectacular.

The Bessvatnet is one of the many lakes that make up Jotunheimen National Park. It is separated from its big brother, Lake Gjende, by a small rocky ledge, part of Besseggen. This lake, much less frequented than the others, is nevertheless no less pleasant. A nice break on his strikes is always welcome!

This rustic wooden bridge with a wide wooden gate sets the mood for a beautiful circular route right at the beginning of the nature trail. There are flat shore areas on both sides, which invite you to cool off in the river.

A cairn marks the highest point of the flat stony summit plateau Veslefjellet. But a well-deserved resting place after the Besseggen. If you are still on the way there, there are certainly places with a nicer view on the tour.

Beautiful lake in a lonely mountain valley. Despite the proximity to the Gjendesee, about 400 meters higher. Esp. a spectacular, rough sight in early summer when it is still partly covered with ice floes. At one end there is the famous Besseggengrat. But also its eastern end with the outflow of the lake to be crossed here is a beautiful sight!

Perfect place for a break: With a view of the mountains, which are reflected here in the water, you can simply pass the time. Particularly practical: you will find an amazingly well-kept outhouse just a few meters from the break area.

Great forest landscape in a mild valley between Rondane and Jotunheimen. You will learn a lot about the flora and fauna and the cultural history of the region on many educational boards. But even without an educational board, a wonderful path through untouched nature.
