The trail from Italy to Switzerland after the Refugio Val Viola is technically demanding but rideable in most sections. I find the difficulty rating somewhat optimistic. You should definitely pay attention to the signpost to the right (bike route). I strongly advise against taking the path straight ahead, even though it's also marked as a bike route on the Kompass map. This section will require carrying your bike and is quite challenging (we were there and turned back!). According to the owner of the Refugio Campo, mountain rescue has had to be called out several times for bikers needing assistance on this stretch! From Switzerland towards Italy, starting about 1 km after the Refugio Campo, you'll have to push and carry your bike for a considerable distance up to the Passo Viola (not recommended). Here too, the difficulty rating is a bit optimistic. In any case, it's a great and challenging trail for mountain bikers in a beautiful landscape.

Born from the "Ride Clean" project, the Dynamite Trail in Santa Caterina Valfurva is a black-difficulty (S3) enduro singletrack. It offers pure adrenaline, immersed in an Alpine panorama with the peaks of 13 snow-capped peaks, through forests, with fast and technical sections, roots, rocks, and berms. Accessible by cable car from Cresta Sobretta, it is ideal for expert bikers seeking a smooth yet challenging descent.

Bormio 2000 is undergoing major renovations for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Definitely a technical trail, not suitable for everyone. Very varied in its alternation of jumps, hairpin bends, narrow and steep passages. The conditions of the trail are not good at all (fallen trees, strong erosion...). Be careful also because you could suddenly take the wrong road (there are many forks that rejoin further ahead but with big differences in the difficulty of the route) or not notice that the first part of the descent intersects a road immediately after a steep section that ends with a fence.

The new Mottolino structure hosts an infrastructure dedicated to both winter sports and bikes for different specialties, including Downhill. Inside there is an excellent bar/restaurant and a shop with different sports equipment. The rental includes top of the range equipment.
