The term "farm" seems excessive to me: I've been frequenting the area since 1960, when I was six years old, and I've never noticed any agricultural activity, much less livestock farming. Furthermore, the houses on the edge of the Valicci (or Tre Valicci) have almost always been closed and uninhabited.

Following path 10 and signs for Pian delle Noci, you reach the refuge. It's a challenging and bumpy climb. Once at the refuge, you descend towards the Gesiola spring and return to path 10 towards the Orino fortress.

Rifugio Campiglio, located on the slopes of Monte Lema, offers a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Maggiore. The facility has restaurant services, a bar and rooms for overnight stays.
