The old Muskau Castle

Large areas border the park.

Built in 1822, the bridge was destroyed several times, most recently in 1945 due to the effects of war. Contrary to its name, the Old Castle was only built in the 17th century under the von Callenberg family. It served as the seat of the district administration. Today, the Old Castle houses the tourist information office.

The fuchsia bridge is an absolute eye-catcher; the flowers shined in all their beauty and harmonized beautifully with the blue of the bridge.

Every year at the beginning of July, Muskau Park offers a special atmosphere at the best coffee time: an open-air picnic. The large lawn in front of the New Palace is the setting for this popular gathering, where visitors can gather outdoors with or without their own picnic baskets.
