Short but beautiful and well worth visiting. Amazing that this fall use to power the once working mills above. A lovely peaceful and beautiful stroll was had here. The upper bridge looking down to the falls offer picturesque views whilst the old mill building were cool to observe but sad to see rotting away in a beautiful valley

Over the bridge from the town and to the left, or park at the Library and walk along the river to the bridge. Take care The circle was erected at Llanrwst in 1950 for the 1951 National Eisteddfod. It consists of a circle of 12 stones with 2 outliers, using unhewn natural stones from near Llyn Ogwyn. Thought to have been reused for the 1989 National Eisteddfod.

1월 13, 2025, St. Rhychwyn's Church
This remote location above the Conwy Valley may have been used for Christian worship since the 6th century. Rhychwyn, or Rhochwyn, was one of the 12 sons of Helig ap Glannog, who lost his court, known as Llys Helig, when the sea inundated it. As a result of this loss, the sons lived devout lives, some as monks. The current church was originally a one-room chapel, probably built in the 12th century. Part of the south wall by the doorway may date from the 11th century. It is said to be the oldest surviving church structure in Wales. It allows us to see what Welsh churches looked like before the Normans’ influence. St Rhychwyn’s Church was extended in the 14th century and the 16th, suggesting that the old church continued to flourish long after St Mary’s was established.

9월 5, 2024, Snowdonia Slate Trail
The Snowdonia Slate Trail offers a circular 83 mile (133 km) hiking loop starting and finishing at Bangor but taking in Bethesda, Capel Curing, Betws-y-Coed, Llan Festiniog, Beddgelert, and Nantddu back to Bangor. It takes in some of the least visited places in Snowdonia National Park, but it is a journey steeped in industrial history when Snowdonia was the centre of the world slate industry, hence deserving of its UNESCO World Heritage Site status. You will enjoy the variety of this hike as it goes through renowned tourist hotspots such as Llanberis and Betws-y-Coed, as well as going through forests, over mountains, and alongside raging torrents. This is simply a superb and historic hike.

Very interesting little museum (free) where you can learn about the preparation and spinning of sheep's wool. You can also visit the water turbine, which is still in operation. The place has an interesting history, as various trades have been operated using the power of water over the centuries.
