The Muskau Orangery has a turbulent history. Due to its unfavorable location, it was demolished twice by Pückler and rebuilt at a new location.[s 6] In addition to its primary purpose, the overwintering of large potted plants from the castle ramp, the Orangery also served as a youth hostel[m 4] and tool shed after 1945.
