We hiked this trail today. It actually runs higher than it appears on the map, as user "brp" writes. We walked from Gurro toward Falmenta. There was nothing wrong with the hiking trail markings! The trail was clearly visible and easy to follow throughout. Please pay attention to the red-white and blue stripes and arrows. However, I can imagine it can be difficult if you're at the wrong altitude.

Attention: the path is higher than shown schematically on the map.

I would not give such a devastating assessment of this section of the trail. It is true that only experienced hikers who are used to the mountains should hike this section. I "only" had to explore the rest of the trail 2-3 times, otherwise the trail is clearly recognizable for long stretches, as a footpath or even an old mule track. Caution is advised in 2-3 other places. This trail does not end at the bridge at the start, but below the village.

In the meantime everything has slipped and grown over, there is no chance of doing the route as a circular tour!

La Forcola is a non-vehicle pass located at 1685 m asl in the Val Grande National Park.

In Mergugna, ancient stone houses are surrounded by thick vegetation. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains. A truly enchanting place!

Falmenta is a beautiful village in the Cannobina Valley. From the parish church you have a majestic view over the valley.
