Ungheni station is currently served by trains from Bucharest, Iasi and Chisinau. Access is via a wooden bridge. The building dates back to 1875. Next to the station, the gauge conversion between Central European gauge and CIS gauge is taking place.

Next to the cathedral there is a grove of honor. This is interesting in that it commemorates not only the victims of the Second World War, but also the local victims of the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan and the helpers who died after the Chernobyl disaster.

The ethnographic and historical museum displays exhibits from the surrounding area. The museum is located at a side entrance of the Palace of Culture. Admission is free. However, the exhibits are only labeled in Russian and Romanian. Most of it is self-explanatory, however.

On the way to the local church there are park benches that highlight gender equality and address the issue of domestic violence. The project was funded by UNICEF and the EU, among others.

The old radar station can be reached from Crama Mircesti, by driving towards Cornesti and turning right at the turnoff to the monastery. It is located right at the entrance to the monastery.

An IS-3 exhibited at the side of the road, which is probably meant to commemorate the Battle of Iași-Chișinău in 1944. The tank was installed on May 8, 1985 and shows how big the idea of militarization still is in the region.
