Tyntesfield, a spectacular Victorian Gothic Revival house with gardens and parkland near Bristol, cared for by the National Trust

Modelled on the flamboyant Gothic architecture of the Sainte Chapelle in Paris, joined to the house by a bridge.

The cafe at the Pavilion at the far end of the Tyntesfield estate is a nice stop off point if you're walking a loop of the estate. It's a normal National Trust cafe so think nice scones, great brownies and a selection of hot and cold drinks as well as snacks. No indoor seating here but there is at the larger Stable Cafe at the main entrance.

The National Trust owned Tyntesfield Estate is an ornate Victorian Gothic Revival house and 540-acres of parkland. As well as the house, gardens and parkland there are cafes and a shop on site. Most of the estate is paid entry if you aren't a member, currently £17 per adult (May 2023) but it's only about £7 per month (individual adult) to join.

There's no footpath sign or anything but this path drops you out at the bottom of the green space on The Perrings. Follow the line of the hedge until you see a clearly marked path. This leads you down to a board walk and then Backwell Lake. If, like me, you get confused in towns then this is a viable way of avoiding Nailsea.

Felton Common is owned by Winford Parish Council. It comprises approx. 100 acres of mainly semi improved grass land, now used almost exclusively for recreation. It is a site of nature conservation, a local nature reserve and designated open access land. There are a number of important archaeological features, including Scheduled Ancient Monuments.
