Can't comment on the views after an early-morning winter trot in thick fog, but the tracks (all public footpaths around here, no bridleways) are decent quality and not too boggy for the time of year.

Also known as a washdyke, this deep, brick-lined basin was where the annual pre-shearing washing took place in full view of the public. It was restored in 2009 when railings were added to stop people falling in. Used regularly until the 1950s when chemical sheep-dipping became prevalent on farms, it was activated by villagers using a metal bung to dam the spring-fed stream on the morning of washing day, and letting it fill with water.

All Saints’ Church is 12th Century in origin and was restored by the Victorians in the late 19th Century. It is situated almost at the foot of Brantingham Dale in an open aspect. It is without doubt one of the most picturesque churches in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Brantingham a quiet village further out of Hull. Triton is a great pub which after a walk through the Welton Dale's can have some home cooked food and is also dog friendly.

Always a good spot to stop and observe the area. Can use this area to walk around to nearest villages or is on the route of The Wolds Way.

Brantingham is a great place to start walking around the hills and moorland area. Would always recommend checking in the pub The Tritton Inn, High quality food and service and dog friendly.

Great spot to observe the 360 degree views. Very close to Mount Airey which is a small landing strip 10 mins away from South Cave. Once walking into the village turn left to go past the South Cave sign and into the heart of the Village.

Church is stipulated at the main road which goes through Brantingham, due to its location there is an area to park a car and walk up the hill to get to the trails around Brantingham and Welton. Would recommend a visit.

Great pub in the heart of South Cave, parking is limited during peak hours.

Lovely country pub at the end point of stage one of the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Great food and drink.

Again another place to sit and get a breather or too wash shoes off with moving water

A good test of stamina if you can cycle all the way up without stopping
