The path leads almost completely around the Güldensee. You keep coming back to the shore and have a beautiful view of the lake. 👍

The approximately 16-hectare lake is located in the north of the municipality and is framed by the Berlin-Görlitz railway line to the east, Motzener Straße to the west and Grünen Weg to the south. To the north are the Kleiner Roßkardtsee and the Güldensee. It is the deepest lake in the Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park with a water depth of 20 m. The Großer Roßkardtsee is a groundwater permeation lake with no surface inflow or outflow. The Erlenbruch in the west of the southern bay is drained by a drainage ditch. The water quality developed unfavorably in the 2010s. The trophic level has increased from "mesotrophic 1" to "mesotrophic 2". There has been a decline in aquatic plants. Visibility depth was 1.5 to 3 meters. An 8 km long circular hiking trail runs along the water, which leads from the train station in Groß Köris via the Großer Roßkardt and Güldensee lakes back to the train station. At the time of the GDR, there was a holiday village on Motzener Straße, where pre-military training for the trainees of the Wildau heavy machinery construction took place. Here you can go extremely far (approx. 1/3 of the lake) and still only stand in water up to your knees! A fantastic cooling off in between!

Right next to the "Hofjagdweg" is a nice rest area with benches on the Güldensee. A place to immerse yourself in nature during a break.

The lake may be beautiful, but at least on the east bank there is no access. There are many private properties right on the shore, the only theoretically accessible place was blocked off with fences.
