At 1,097 meters, Meluzína (Swirlstone) is the fourth-highest peak in the Czech Ore Mountains. It is a striking 700-meter-long and 250-meter-wide rocky ridge. Its slopes and summit plateau are littered with rocks and boulders. The mountain is named after the mythological banshee Melusine, whose legs resembled snake tails. Because she always moaned and complained whenever she appeared, her name also became a French term for a strong wind that howls in the cracks of houses, trees, or rocks. The German name Wirbelstein also suggests a connection to wind and storms.

Hiking around and through the Schneeberg is something truly special, with its beautiful vegetation and rock formations. Magnificent views await you at the top of the plateau.

The Meluzína (Wirbelstein) is 1094 m high and is located three kilometers east of the Klínovec (Keilberg 1243.7 m) near the Boží Dar–Měděnec road directly on the ridge of the Ore Mountains. The Meluzína is located directly on the red-marked ridge path of the European long-distance hiking trail E3. You can climb to the summit via an unmarked branch. Very beautiful views are worth the detour from the trail.

With our Czech neighbors you can go hiking wonderfully and the nature is very well cared for.

When you look down at the "Rudolf's Stone" rock from below, it feels like a mystery of nature. A steep, seemingly almost impossible climb that makes even experienced hikers think twice. But the path, peppered with ladders and chains, turns out to be a doable adventure. Yes, it is narrow and requires courage, surefootedness and a head for heights. But it is precisely this challenge that makes it all the more appealing. Once you reach the top, the view opens up and you are surrounded by a magnificent panoramic view that is particularly at sunrise or sunset in all its glory. The small shelter, which you can already make out from below, stands there like a proud landmark and promises protection from the elements in bad weather. Rudolfův kámen is not just a simple viewing rock, it is an experience. For those who dare to take the small detour, the summit offers not only breathtaking views but also the opportunity to rest in peace as it is less frequented than other points on the route. This is particularly advantageous on weekends when other places can be crowded. A tip: the climb should not be underestimated, especially in bad weather. And for those with small children: a watchful eye and a steady hand are essential here.

The lookout tower on the Plattenberg is the youngest of the four lookout towers in the Czech part of the central Ore Mountains. Its establishment was credited to the Horni Blatna Winter Sports Club, which wanted to build a tourist and ski center near the town. Construction began in 1912 based on the plans of Cheb architect Karl Matusch. Even before the start of the winter season, the Berghotel with restaurant and viewing tower was officially opened on July 5 of the following year. The observation tower was named Zita-Aussicht in honor of Archduchess and future last Austrian Empress Zita Maria delle Grazie of Bourbon-Parma. The mountain hotel was very popular at the time and was expanded in 1927. Source: information board on the tower
