The Lumikello Majavatie Trail, or "Snowbell Beaver Path," is a scenic forest hike near Rovaniemi, winding through woods with beaver activity and potential wildlife sightings along the way. Part of larger loops like the 15.7 km Isorakka route from Pöykkölä, it's an easy-to-moderate path perfect for hikers seeking peaceful Lapland nature

This small church sits just outside the city centre. The architecture suggests it could be Orthodox.

The view is magnificent.

The four smaller ski jumps had to be demolished in 1987 due to road construction. A K 6, K 15, K 25 and later the K 36 were built in Ounasvaara as replacements. The Continental Cup has been hosted on the ski jump since 2004. The Nordic Junior World Ski Championships were held in 2005.

Be careful in winter when there is snow

Over a few very steep wooden steps (very slippery in winter!) you can reach the viewpoint, from which you get a very nice view down to Rovaniemi. Above all, the sunset is recommended. 🥰

Nice excursion destination close to the city with a view and barbecue hut

For all those who have seen the refuge on the map and thought to make their Finnish BBQ there ... not possible. The cabins 🛖 appear to be owned by Lapland Safaris. Both are locked. See pictures.
