The Vecht, sometimes also referred to as Utrechtse Vecht or Stichtse Vecht to distinguish it from the Overijsselse Vecht, is a Dutch river that runs through the provinces of Utrecht and North Holland. The Vecht starts at the Weerdsluis in the city of Utrecht and flows into the IJmeer about 42 kilometers further at Muiden.

The path takes you past this beautiful mill. You have a great view over the Spiegelplas. On warm sunny days there are plenty of places to relax in the sun or shade

Pleasant path along De Vecht. Only walking is allowed. There is a campsite along the path with a very nice spot where you can eat and drink. It is teeming with water birds including cormorants

Authentic ferry run by volunteers who are always happy to have a chat with you. On the Nigtevecht side there are all kinds of nice places where you can eat and drink. Check the website for sailing times

A very nice spot along the Vecht. It is often pleasantly busy during the sailing season. They have simple but tasty dishes. The view from this place is amazing

This beautiful house stands alone along the Vecht. Close to this house there is a beautiful path through the meadows, which is highly recommended for a walk

Vreeland is a cute village with just over 2000 inhabitants. The center of the village is fortunately still authentic and you can stroll around there. There are also a few nice restaurants and terraces. The village houses a Michelin Star restaurant
