The Torre Fiorenzana is almost certainly the oldest building in Grono. The first records date back to 1286 and 1314. It was part of a complex of fortifications which also included a small church. A small detour is certainly worth it.

Torre Fiorenzana, Grono The Torre Fiorenzana is almost certainly the most ancient building in the village of Grono. The first evidence dates back to 1286. In 1314 it was registered as the property of the Lords of Sax, the then lords of the Misox valley. It was part of a fortification complex which also included a small church. The stone building has a square floor plan and the corners are reinforced with stone slabs (corner bosses). The upper end forms a gable roof with crenellated crowning on the gable sides. The Torre Fiorenzana is an elegant residential structure on 5 floors, which is well preserved and was still inhabited in the 20th century. The Torre Fiorenzana has been owned by the Museo Moesano for several decades. It was restored towards the end of the last century. It can be used from April to October and is particularly suitable for exhibitions of contemporary art. The rooms are also available for events, performances and artistic performances.
