perfect for a short rest

The Stengelhaider Moor is definitely worth a visit. Free parking is available at the "Moor Nature Trail Parking Lot." An educational trail, partly on boardwalks, leads through the moor and features information panels explaining the vegetation, peat extraction, and renaturation measures. The highlight of the route is a viewing platform.

Near these millstones stood the official mill where they once turned. From 1656 onward, the miller and baker Reißig delivered his bread to Wolkenstein once a week, where he offered it for sale at an unbeatable price, as he sourced his grain cheaply from Bohemia.

An information panel shows how well one could view from this point into the village of Böhmisch Reizenhain, which no longer exists since the expulsion of the Germans after World War II. Only two houses, a barn, and the cemetery chapel remain of the village depicted in historical photographs.
