This spot along the trail is where Reinecker Creek flows into Heralds Bay. You're treated to sweeping views of the bay and the end of the waterway that feeds the flow of Margaret Falls.

The Rimrock Trail is just 20 minutes from downtown Vernon, off the King Edward FSR. The trail begins as a logging road, but after 1.3 km, it turns into single track as it takes you through a forest of hemlock and cedar until you reach an impressive volcanic valley of old lava beds and lava spires. There is a rope in the lava fields if you need something to grab onto as you descend.

The trail up Mount Middleton is short but sweet with a series of switchbacks. Once you reach the top there are three different loops you can take all with great views of the lake and surrounding area.
