Grade II listed building, listed in 1984. It stands within the South Gloucestershire county, not "Bristol Proper," although it is (at least nowadays) very much a part of Bristol. When this was constructed in 1788, it was in the "Parish of Chipping Sodbury," but as time went on & the population grew in the mid - latter ¼ of the 20th century, Bristol expanded exponentially northwards. Lots of old parishes & what would have been small villages, such as Frenchay, have now become part of the city. The bridge itself is stunning. There is an old plaque reading that the bridge "is unsafe to carry a weight beyond 6 tons." It's in a really pretty area, right in the suburbs (well, urban sprawl! In Bristol, it's pretty hard to tell where one area starts and ends!) But, you can easily feel miles away from the noise & and built-up areas not far from here. The weekends at Oldbury Court / Vassals & Snuff Mills are really horrendously busy, if possible, I'd advise visiting on a weekday.

Queen's Square is a Georgian square near Bristol's city centre. Between the 1930s and 1991 a main road went through the middle, but a successful Lottery bid for funding allowed it to be restored to it's 1817 layout. In the centre of the square is an equestrian statue of William III by John Michael Rysbrack, cast in 1733 and erected in 1736.

Kings Head Lane Park is a medium sized park in the south of Bristol. There are areas of open parkland, lots of trees and kids play equipment. You can make a nice short walk by lapping this park and including a loop of the nearby Manor Woods Valley.

The Obelisk was built in 1762 in memory of the Duke of Beaufort's niece, Elizabetha Somerset. Only the base pedestal remains.

Stoke Park is a 270-acre open green space clearly visible from the M32 on the way into or out of Bristol. The yellow Dower House was built in 1563 as a private home, it's been a hospital and is now private apartments. The wider estate which includes a lake, old gun emplacements, a hermitage tunnel and areas of woodland is all open to the public.

The Duchess Pond in the Stoke Park estate is used as a fishing lake. Despite its noisy proximity to the motorway it's a nice place to walk and you may see water birds that are otherwise rare in the Bristol area. Look out for reed warblers, reed bunting and Egyptian geese.

Nice views from the path along Rose Green Road. The Greenbank cemetery is to the west and allotments on the east.

Greenbank cemetery holds the graves of Bristolians killed in the WW2 Bristol Blitz as well as service personnel killed in action. There are memorials as well as the graves. Despite being a sober place to wander around the cemetery is a calm green place in the city. It's a nice place to walk either as a short break or as part of a longer loop.
