Goram's Chair is a stunning viewpoint for Henbury Gorge. Hidden away on one of the Blaise Castle Estate's quieter trails, a path leads to a narrow platform that juts out into the gorge on the top of a limestone crag. With trees full of birdsong everywhere you look, it's hard to believe you’re still in Bristol.
Folklore has it that Goram was a giant who created Henbury Gorge in order to win over a beautiful woman named Avona. Unfortunately, his efforts were in vain, as his brother and love rival Vincent trumped him, creating the grander Avon Gorge.
