5월 28, 2025, Motsameta Monastery
The monastery is located on a clifftop promontory above the Tskalzitela River. It is accessible only by foot. The site was of strategic importance early on, so much so that defensive fortifications existed here even before the monastery was built. Today, the monastery is a popular pilgrimage and wedding destination.

10월 27, 2024, Suspension Bridge Over the Tskaltsitela River
The suspension bridge is dangerous. It's better not to attempt crossing it. If you decide to cross it anyway avoid stepping on the braces or planks, cos they can easily detach and fall. Step only on the cables. And of course it's even more dangerous to cross it in windy weather. The cables seem to be reliably attached on both sides, so maybe someone will repair it one day.

The ensemble in the middle of the large square is very impressive. We were there at night and the square was full of honking cars celebrating Georgia's victory against the Czech Republic in the football match

5월 22, 2024, Suspension Bridge Over the Tskaltsitela River
We did the tour today and crossed the bridge individually and in strong winds. The ropes seem safe, but you have to be careful with some of the rungs on the ground. The longest part is secured with metal wire, metal or wooden planks. Even if you are not afraid of heights, it takes some courage to do this section of the tour. But overall it was worth it!

Great view over Kutaisi, the redesign of the cathedral is debatable.

10월 12, 2023, Kutaisi Market Hall
If you want to be enchanted by a lot of local color, you definitely shouldn't miss the market in the Kutaisi market hall. The market here is one of the largest and most colorful in all of Georgia. The stalls are full of regional specialties such as cheese, walnuts, spices, herbs, wine and churchkhela - string-strung walnuts in grape caramel. Presently, the sight of them takes some getting used to as they are more reminiscent of candles - but the Georgian specialty is damn tasty.
