Make sure you have a proper hiking boots as plenty of slippery stones and pebbles. A bit of mini scrambling on the rpute. there is a river without a bridge to get through (stone crossing). Make sure the water levels are low when you take this hike.

After two days of rainfall (7 october 2025) water seemed quite high. Had to take off boots and wade through knee-deep (or slightly more) water to get across (with long stick for balance given the flow velocity). Only recommended in dry summer periods or for adventurous types.

If you catch the right time, especially in autumn when the days are shorter, you can experience a fantastic sunset

Ivan Crnojević, Prince of the Zeta 1465–1490, is considered the founder of Cetinje. After the Ottomans captured the Venetian Shkodra in 1479, Ivan moved his seat of government from the endangered Žabljak on Lake Skadar to the mountains east of Lovćen. Here he founded an Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Mother of God in 1482, which became the nucleus of Cetinje. In 1495, a printing press was set up there.

Cetinje used to be the capital and had several embassies.
