Cye Ledge를 따라 이어지는 이 구간의 트레일은 여러 섬들을 가로지르는 아름다운 전망을 선사합니다. 난간 뒤에 머물고 절벽 가장자리 근처의 침식 경고를 존중해 주세요. 하지만 섬에서 가장 경치 좋은 전망대 중 한 곳에서 잠시 시간을 보내는 것도 잊지 마세요.

섬의 남서쪽 끝에 있는 오래된 활엽수 아래에는 느긋하게 일몰을 감상하기 좋은 벤치가 있습니다. 빛이 부드러워지면서 섬들이 흩어져 있는 풍경이 펼쳐집니다. 이 자연 트레일에서 작지만 조용한 보상입니다.

이 트레일은 혼합림을 따라 Schnare Cove를 지나며 활엽수, 가끔 보이는 오래된 사과나무, 섬의 역사를 알려주는 설명 표지판들을 지나갑니다. 새 둥지를 찾기 위해 위를 올려다보고, 페인트칠된 바위를 찾기 위해 아래를 내려다본 다음, 벤치에 잠시 멈춰 만의 넓고 평화로운 전망을 감상하세요.

The Prince of Wales Tower stands on the highest point of Point Pleasant Park. This imposing Martello tower (a name given to small, defensive British fortresses of the 19th century) is characterized by its thick walls. It was the first of its kind built in North America. Interpretive panels provide further information.

The Halifax Memorial, located on the shores of Pleasant Point, commemorates the 3,267 Canadian and Newfoundland sailors and soldiers who lost their lives during the First and Second World Wars. The monument replaced an earlier memorial on Citadel Hill in Halifax.

The Bonaventure Anchor Memorial, also known as the Canadian Peacetime Sailors’ Memorial, is located on a site that once housed a searchlight battery used for harbour defence during the Second World War.

This trail is a beautiful path through coastal forest and grassy headlands, with the route staying mostly level as it follows the ridge crest. As you move farther out, the landscape opens to expansive views over Aspy Bay and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, with low cliffs and rolling highlands stretching along the coast. The trail ends at an exposed viewpoint, where the sense of space and ocean air make it an ideal spot for lunch or simply a peaceful place to soak in the views before heading back.

From this vantage point, the ridge opens up to a panoramic view over Aspy Bay, with the long barrier beach below. It’s a memorable, exposed viewpoint that gives you a clear sense of the scale and raw coastline of northern Cape Breton, and is worth taking some time to enjoy the scenery and capture unforgettable photos.
